Today was a bit of a test for how my knee is doing, I decided to try riding some hills and see if it has any effect – all very slow and in the granny ring! Felt ok at the time but I’ll know for sure tomorrow I think so fingers crossed!
The main reason was that the Swiss Power Cup course for next weekend was open to pre-ride and I wanted to find out what its like. Its pretty cool, less than 10 mins off-road ride to get there from my house. Loads of very pro looking people zipping around too.
I’m not sure what to make of it. A very short lap with one big long climb and a long descent, starting and finishing on the edge of the town on steep fields. It was like Irish biking today, wet roots an mud with lots of drifting round corners, but things dry out very quickly here so it could change. It was ok, some nice parts to the descent and quite a bit of singletrack, but it lacked a bit of excitement I think. Maybe racing it would be different and apparently UCI ranked it as one of the top in the world so who am I to complain!
I got my fun buzz getting home down some nice technical singletrack through the woods that finishes almost at my door. Nice. The new bike is feeling great too, just got the tubeless tyres sorted and cant believe how different it feels!

Sounds deadly Cait! Good luck! Let me know if you manage to give Sabine an elbow
Thanks Steve, it should be fun, bit different to Irish races I reckon!
